Suolovuobmi 23rd April 2008

Dave started out from Kautokeino about 8am on the 23rd April soon reaching a well defined track signed to Alta where he carried on through the day until nearly midnight, having covered about 70kms. Much of the time he made use of skins as waxing was difficult. Accomodation was prebooked early evening with the Suolovubmi Fjellstua, so on arrival rest was first priority. He hopes to reach Alta this evening, but has again about 70 km to go .

had look at google for Suolovubmi Fjellstua and again all you get is the above diary - Dave must understand what an honour it is to be a sole google entry
Alta looks like a big town - he is going to find such civilisation a bit strange but after 140km in 2 days I doubt he will care
may his skins stay attached and tight - unlike my memories of the darn things!
    getting closer all the time

Nice to chat earlier this week Dave - thanks for calling! Hope Op Tooth has now settled down is creating no dramas. All the best for the push to Alta - a huge metropolis compared to what you’ve been used to recently! Wil be in UK wef from Sun - back 5 May, by which time I hope you’ll have cracked it! Continued good luck! Regs, Andy Canning (Brit Emb Oslo)
